Backup configuration files to archive

i had a really extensive configuration for star citizen that included nearly all of the commands that made sense to use verbally. i screwed up my bootloader and accidentally lost it. i think a button that would pull all of the relevant files from your storage and package them in a zip to be easily restored would be a pretty welcome feature to anyone who's had to add a lot of commands using the laborious ui controls provided for that specific task. to be clear, i'm fine with the UI other than the way you have to add commands one-by-one. with all due respect meant because i assume the ui will improve with time, which is fine. a backup feature would be very helpful though. it it matters at all, i do subscribe.

i have a keybind editing tool for star citizen that was developed for the HCS Voice pack products and it is kind of hit or miss. There are certain actions that just can't be bound by it. then there are one or two that i am unable to bind in game. i have to bind them from the tool or leave them default. i assume and blame it on star citizen i guess.

regarding the bootloader, i was referring to having screwed up my boot files and that being the motivation for needing to restore a backup specifically to retrieve those wingman config files. you never know where a developer will choose to store things. program files, programdata, documents, one of the appdata subdirectories, the root directory are most common but.. who knows? the cloud even. you understand. star citizen devs should cook up an api for third party apps to pull down all of your various keybinds or something like that. since they have such a mess of keybind situation going on.

i have all of the files, but there are files stored by this application in many locations and i am not sure which ones are the necessary ones to back up, so i just have them all sync'd. I'm suggesting the feature be considered for future development. there are files stored in at least four different locations on windows. i assume it's only one of those inside AppData that are relevant to the user's changes though.

Hi there, what do you mean by the bootloader? If you're using windows, the config files are always stored on your computer locally in your user data folder for wingman. You can also always zip them and put them anywhere for safe keeping (or use a version control software like git).

i suspect this has already been suggested. it's a pretty obvious potential issue. i haven't used this platform and i didn't look to find out how to know if i'm making a duplicate suggestion, so it if is just delete it or whatever you do and i'll get the message.
